I love the colours, the cool breezes that make your hair sway from side to side. If you're lucky enough it might stay away from your lipstick and I love seeing frost outside when I wake up.
Who am I kidding, I have been looking forward to Autumn since Christmas, so I am more than happy that it's finally here! However, I must admit that this year's English summer didn't exist, so we've had an extended autumn! During this month, people finally give up on trying to create a summer for themselves, put the bikini's and flip flops away and finally get out the boots.
Do you ever get the feeling that you're a changed person every time you clear out all the summer clothes from your wardrobe and hang up the parkas, coats and jumpers? I love finally being able to wear my favourite super soft jeans, pulling out my boots from the wardrobe and getting the long sleeves on. Oh how do I love my jumpers. And fluffy coats. On the topic of fluffy coats, I have already purchased my new winter coat and it's fluffier than the unicorn from 'Despicable Me' (I nearly shouted "It's so fluffy I'm going to die" while trying it on in the shop) so, I had to get it. It was a perfect fit and it was perfect (I really should improve my descriptive language knowledge. It really is atrocious, for a person who just completed their A levels in English Language and Literature...)
September is also the time for going back to school. As many young people today, I used to hate going back to school. It was officially the end of summer, and another year of torture was just beginning. However, I have learned to welcome the beginning of the new school year with open arms. Just think about the pencil cases you can find in the shops, the notebooks, the planners and getting to know your new teachers! Think of school as a way of showing people your talents and capabilities. Don't hate it, because once you graduate, you will miss it!
Having finished Sixth Form, and being accepted into University, I have to tell you that once you finish school, you will want to go back. In my case, I had been at the same school for 7 years, and it had become my favourite place. Looking at everyone going back to school has made me feel homesick, although I am at home for most of the day watching 'The Big Bang Theory', 'Charmed' and 'Jane the Virgin'. I am jealous of the people who are there! I miss the encouragement which I got from some of my teachers to take a risk and the fact that if you don't ask you won't get what you want. School is a key part of your childhood and you have to treasure it because once it's over, it's over and you can't turn back time (yet).
