Wow, the end of this amazing adventure came quicker than expected! When it came to the last day of our trip to Paris, we realised that there were still many places which we hadn't visited, and frankly, I don't know about my parents, but I panicked. I had been lucky enough to get to go to the (in my opinion) most beautiful city in the world and I hadn't actually gone to see and take Instagrammable pictures of the tourist attractions.
Having lived in London most of my life, I was used to the monotonous museums, galleries and castles. However, having been a pessimistic attraction visitor all throughout the trip I was pretty impressed with all the Parisian hot spots!
Therefore, we hopped on the subway (the French call it 'Metro', isn't that cool?) and got off at the Champs De Mars, Tour Eiffel stop, which is a short 5 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower. I don't know how people who live in Paris get used to seeing the Eiffel Tower and not stopping to take pictures. It is so beautiful, that I couldn't resist the urge to to take photos!
Tip: Study the subway map before you arrive in Paris since it's so hard to navigate yourselves around! And remember on the tube map, numbered lines is the metro and letters are the trains!
This time, everything was much sunnier, and less wet and consequently nicer! It was at that point in time that I realised that Paris is always going to have a special place in my heart. I have grown to love that place.
One particular part of Paris, which I instantaneously fell in love with was the river Seine. It divides Paris in two parts, both equally beautiful. It is so peaceful, that you can't resist the urge to go on a boat along it. The scenery as well, I was wow-ing and oh-my-God-ing (amazing description, I know!) all through it. I can't describe it really, so here are so photos! As my best friend says, pictures speak a thousand words.
Having spent the whole day gallivanting through Paris, we decided to go and rest a bit while admiring the beauty of Notre Dame cathedral. I love old buildings, but this one took my breath away.
However, the queue was so long that we decided to admire the building's beauty from the outside! There were so many people there, and I wasn't surprised. The gardens at the back of the cathedral were splendid. My mum was in flower heaven! However, I wouldn't suggest this place for hay fever sufferers. I felt as if I had a little leprechaun in my nose tickling it non-stop. Not nice. And I didn't get my pot of gold in the end! So rude.
Finally, having walked through the Champs-Elysee boulevard, I was starstruck. From Cartier to Sephora, I was in heaven, my earlier leprechaun misdemeanors forgotten. It was so amazing, walking through the world's top fashion shops, and feeling totally normal.
Having walked a lot throughout the day, the sun finally set and we had to stay and see the glittery, fantastic and amazingly awesome Eiffel Tower at night.
