It has been my dream to visit Disneyland for as long as I can remember and today, 28th August, I finally got to! On the way there, reality hit me and I finally realized that I was in fact going to visit Disneyland, the land where all my childhood dreams will come true. The train journey was extra long and I felt as if that was done on purpose so that all the excited little kids (including me) got really frustrated and lost all their excitement.
Here is the first photo which I took when we were just about to get our bags checked- I was EXCITED!

After finally getting off the train, we were finally greeted by some very polite, kind and seemingly happy staff, who spoke English perfectly and made us feel at home. I absolutely loved the fact that all the staff that we came across and Disneyland spoke English amazingly well because, even after three years of learning French, I still did not understand anything and believe me I hated it.

Once I saw the castle, I was in heaven. Oh, had I waited for a long time to see that castle. The whole of Disneyland (including the small bit of Walt Disney Studios that I saw) was so well done that you had the feeling that you are in a fairy tale yourself. It's like a whole another world. The flowers were arranged with such precision that even the perfectionist in me was in heaven and that rarely happens.

The photographs above show just how creative and amazing the people at Disneyland are. They created the Cheshire Cat out of flowers and even put in moving eyes, and the whiskers of the cat showed the time. Like, come on, who wouldn't want that in their back yard?
Having never been to Disneyland, we were obligated to try all of the roller coasters, starting from the Indiana Jones one ending with Space Mountain. And can I just say how fantastic they were?
I am a scaredy cat. I don't like roller coasters and I don't like going upside down. However, the staff at Disneyland were so nice and reassuring, and there was literally no backing out, so I got on all of the 'Thrill Rides' and concurred my fear of roller coasters (still definitely not going on Stealth at Thorpe Park), although I love to look at it.
After having spent a whole day at Disneyland, we were TIRED. However, there was still two more things to do before we go back to the hotel and back to reality.
Number 1: WATCH THE PARADE
The parade is usually for younger children, but believe me, when parents want to get that oh-so-important picture of Mickey which their 5 month old children are 'going to cherish forever' they mean it and they will get that photo no matter what they have to sacrifice. I had more adults around me than children.
It is amazing, you see every single Disney character, however I was really disappointed that I didn't see Olaf and only Anna and Elsa.
The atmosphere was amazing, there was Disney music blaring out of the speakers and I was on Cloud 9 even just hearing that music. I am even sitting here typing this post up and listening to 'Hakuna Matata'.
Number 2: WATCH THE NIGHTTIME SPECTACULAR
One negative aspect of Disneyland was that they never really made it clear when their 'Closing Time' was, so were sitting right outside Sleeping Beauty's castle for about an hour and a half, but believe me, the Nighttime Spectacular was AMAZING and as described by Disney themselves, it was spectacular! I don't know how else to describe it, so here are some photos. I also have the whole performance recorded, so if you would like me to post it, e-mail me on littlerayofsunshineblog@hotmail.com or just leave me a comment!
